Persian rugs are hand-woven rugs or carpets made in Iran with distinct characteristics of superior wrap with heavy yearn. •    After purchasing the Persian rugs, it is better to get a certificate of authentication. It will help you when and if you plan to sell the rugs. The certificate will facilitate you to get better price.

The Age Classification

•    If the Persian rugs is less than fifty years it is marked as old rugs
•    When it is between 50-80 Years Old then it is called semi antique.
•    When it is 80 years then we can call it antique.

The Cleaning Process

Persian rugs or carpets are maintenance free due to the use of fine materials and for the rigidity in the knots. Nevertheless, if you want to clean it then use of electric sweeper is recommended. If something has spilled over it, then clean it with mild detergent. In this regard, it is important to note that while using mild detergent it is important to get the moisture out very quickly. However, it is always advisable to engage a professional cleaner to clean the carpets that is made from silk as it is extra delicate compared to Persian rugs made fromwool.
